Andy (Andy, You’re a Star) is the only person who is real on the album. He’s someone Brandon grew up with. Natalie (Believe Me Natalie) is based on this kind of partying girl in the seventies who ends up dying of AIDS; it’s about the whole end of the disco party era that ended in the early eighties. And Jenny (Jenny Was a Friend of Mine) is about this girl who gets killed by her boyfriend. See, most of it is fiction, but there’s a little truth to Mr. Brightside, even though no names are mentioned, it’s about Brandon’s ex-girlfriend and how she cheated on him, that bitch.
